Rage Craws at Lake Falcon !!!

Got to go to Falcon this past weekend for some "fun fishin"....Friday was windy, bright sunny skies and water temps around 69 to 72 degrees. Water clarity was excellent !!

Found some smaller fish in about 10-12 ft of water but they were few and far between.

Saturday was a different story weatherwise...NO wind...lake was like glass for most of the day...everything else was the same, but with NO breeze, it was HOT !!!!

Narrowed the pattern down to flipping Rage Craws into bushes/trees in 10-12 ft, away from the visible brush/tree line. Had to flip right down in the middle of them. Caught several but couldn't get anything over about 5 lbs. Tried other creature baits before settling on the Rage Craw...they would literally POUND that Rage Craw !!!

Heard that the Falcon Lake Tackle "Big Bass Blast" was won with 23 + lbs. Not too bad for a 3 fish limit tourney !!

Hey ya'll. Been away for some time over the last couple weeks.

Been pretty busy lately with alot of stuff. Work is getting busier and cutting into my time online. Mostly lunch breaks and the occassional couple of minutes between helping people. We are getting into the busy part of the year. Aside from that I have a lot of side projects going on. I work on some committees at work that start getting pretty busy at work this time of year and I have a couple of side project web sites I work on in free time (one family, one personal). Not anywhere near completion, just testing stuff I've been learning with CSS and Javascript for those who do web design.

Anyway I haven't been fishing much as I worked a lot of weekends recently and do the same through the rest of the month. The nights I have been working haven't been ideal for fishing as we've had lots of rain and a lot of the water around here hasn't warmed up to it's usual April temps. This has made my time pretty limited. I may get to fish Wednesday morning this week and possibly some next weekend. We will see.

I just wanted to let you guys know I'm not gone, I'm still here just limited. I will try and contribute more when I get time. Next month I work no Saturdays and the spawn should hopefully be on so my dad and I will be shceduling plenty of trips. Not to mention on early June hits the smallie fishing is really gonna pick up around here and THAT'S my time of year. Can't wait to get em' with the lizards, craws, and shads.

Ok, well I will try and jump on more a few times a week to sort through threads and say what's up to everybody. Just wanted to let ya'll know what's been going on. Hopefully everyone else is getting on fish. Later guys.

5lber caught flipping a ragecraw

WOW!!! i love the rage craw. this is a 5lber that was one of a five fish limit that went 18.5 lbs this past saturday. i'm loving this bait more and more i use it. almost never fails! i've been punching those thick hyacinths you see there in the background over the past few weeks and i've been smoking them big time. i'm gonna have to buy stock in strike king if this keeps up!

I Went today at a local lake and caught 15 bass on the rage toad . Three was about three pounds . The rest was about a pound . Still got 2 toads left in the pack . great lure BIG O . Very durable .No pics yet I will post them later .

ladies and gentlemen, the spawn is on in TN. saw my first bed fish of '09 today. saw many more cruising the banks lookin' for a spot or suspended way up high out away from the bank. (this is what a lot of big females do before they move up). and trust me, i saw some real donks. these fish weren't "ready" yet, but hopefully there will be in a day or two. sure hope the weather holds. i am totally addicted to sight fishing, so i'm like a kid in a candy store right now. keeping my fingers crossed for a big, pretty girl willin' to pose for a quick pic with me soon. just wish i wasn't having to work so much here lately.

on another note, i did drop the hammer on a few prespawners staging on and around shallow grassbeds today with the rage craw. that double header color really rocks. hope y'all are catchin' some too.

Mono or Fluorocarbon?

I finally decided to try out fluorocarbon line.   It is kind of pricey, but it seems that it would be good for worm fishing, jigs, carolina rigging, etc.

Opinions?

Dropshot Rage Tail Lizard

I am going to try the lizard on a dropshot set up this weekend. I am thinking it will do well with the warmer temps around here. The water temps should be in the mid 40s this weekend. I will post up pictures of the ones I catch.

i went to venice last weekend we caught some really nice fish. first cast busted out a 16 lb. red...i was sayin O MAN lets get it on ha...it was raining and the bites kinda slowed down so i broke out the rage caught quite a few fish ....i love how versatile these rage baits are ...All im sayin is always have a rage pack with ya no matter what kind of fishin you are doin ..

last year i caught a few of them on the rage toad well here is some photos to show yall

I love fishing but will not dare eat fish hate the taste
But the frog sure is good

Wow, did Big O have a Big O day today.....Got to fish with one of my all time favorite Pro's "Big Mark Davis". We filmed a show together fishing one of my new designs and had a terrific time. He said tell all of you TEAMRAGETAIL Rageaholics, YOU GOT IT GOIN' ON...BIGTIME and those are my sentiments exactly...WOOO HOOOO
BTW saw MarkCopley, one of our new *TEAMRAGETAIL*** Members there. He was one of our Videographers for the film shoot and he and his son were having a great time as well.

New Addition To My Bass Baits

Well, i bought a pack of ragetail toad and a pack of ragetail shad. Wow did i have to look to find them though. First i couldnt find them on the shelves so i was just looking around in the clearance bin and i found a pack of shads. So then i figured there would be some toads in there too, i must of looked for a good 10mins or more and finaly came across a pack of toads. I bought a pack of toads that where blue with sparkles and a pack of white shads. Anyone have any luck with these colors?
